The evaluation meeting where the studies carried out in the field of health tourism in Trabzon were discussed was held under the leadership of the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TTSO). Health tourism targets for 2025 were determined at the meeting.

2025 targets are taking shape

The evaluation meeting of the health tourism studies carried out by the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce and Industry within the scope of the HİSER project supported by the Ministry of Commerce was hosted by Karadeniz Technical University (KTÜ) Farabi Hospital. TTSO President Erkut Çelebi, TTSO Vice President Mehmet Çelebi, TTSO Assembly Member and Project Manager Mehmet Üçüncüoğlu, Trabzon Provincial Health Directorate Health Services Director Op. Dr. Yavuz Çakıroğlu, KTÜ Farabi Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Celal Tekinbaş and representatives of hospitals and tourism agencies with health tourism authorization certificates attended the meeting. At the meeting, current studies were reviewed and plans for 2025 were discussed.

New markets on the agenda

TTSO President Erkut Çelebi stated that the studies carried out in the Georgian and Azerbaijani markets continue without slowing down and pointed to Saudi Arabia and Germany as new target markets. Çelebi said, “A delegation from Tbilisi will come to Trabzon between January 16-20 and hold meetings with representatives of the health sector. It is imperative that we focus on the Tbilisi region. However, Saudi Arabia and Germany will be our important markets. Oman and Sochi are also regions with potential. Any place with direct flights is a target market for us.”

New projects on the agenda

New projects aimed at developing health tourism were also discussed at the meeting. Promotional activities in target markets, the establishment of an association where health tourism organizations can participate, and projects that will cover Trabzon and the surrounding provinces were put on the agenda. In addition, it was decided to start preparations for the Health Workshop planned to be held in Trabzon between April 10-12, 2025.
