4.01.2025 -

The caves formed as a result of excavations carried out from past to present in the Salt Mountain in Iğdır are attracting attention despite the winter.

The therapy center, which is located in Tuzluca district and consists of walls, ceiling and floor made of salt meters below the ground, has been landscaped and illuminated by the Iğdır Governorship and Tuzluca District Governorship.

Thanks to the works, the caves, which are visited by visitors every season of the year and provide services for respiratory tract disorders, are also crowded with tourists in the winter months.

The caves attract the attention of tourists participating in tours in the Eastern Anatolia Region as well as visitors from Azerbaijan and Iran.

Yıldız Aliyeva, a tourism guide from Azerbaijan, said that she came to Turkey to spend the New Year holiday and visited the caves.

Aliyeva, who stated that she visited historical and cultural sites of Turkey during her vacation, said, "There is a salt cave used as a Salt Therapy Center in Nakhchivan. We were very curious about the salt cave here, we came today to satisfy our curiosity. The salt cave is a beautiful place beyond our expectations, worth seeing. We are evaluating the tourism potential of this region, Iğdır and Ağrı Mountain." Aliyeva, who stated that the Turkish world should see the region, especially the salt cave, continued her words as follows:

"We all have a common history in this geography, I think this place is a part of our history and past. I recommend everyone to visit such places during their vacation. It is the duty and debt of every Turkish citizen to see these places and gain information. In this sense, we are coming from Azerbaijan and spending our New Year's holiday here." Seyda Ceferova, who came from Nakhchivan, said, "I planned to spend my New Year's holiday in our sister country Turkey and I loved these places. The Salt Cave in particular caught my attention, I will recommend everyone to come here. This place is a miracle, I consider it a blessing from God. I was very happy to spend my holiday here."
