The first hotel of Radisson Individuals, the transformation brand of Radisson Hotel Group, Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia Istanbul has opened in Turkey.

According to the statement made by Radisson Hotel Group, Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia Istanbul, a member of Radisson Individuals, was launched with an investment of 10 million euros as the second hotel of the Gedikli family, which operates boutique hotels in Sultanahmet.

The opening of the hotel, which is located on the historical peninsula and within walking distance of many touristic places, especially Hagia Sophia, Topkapı Palace, Sultanahmet Mosque and Grand Bazaar, was attended by Istanbul Deputy Governor Özlem Bozkurt Gevrek, Fatih Mayor Mehmet Ergün Turan and investors.

The construction of the hotel, which started 10 years ago, could only be completed due to the historical Byzantine water cistern that was unearthed during the foundation excavation. Half of the building was built on steel construction to protect this 10-meter-high historical artifact. As a result of joint work with archaeologists, the historical cistern wall is exhibited in the hotel.

There are 49 rooms and a sea view restaurant

The hotel, which hosts tourists mostly from Russia, the USA, India, England and the Middle East, has a 'brasserie' where the Byzantine wall is exhibited and a terrace restaurant with a sea view.

The hotel, which stands out with its restaurant headed by chef Rüstem Yıldırımhan, one of the first graduates of the Culinary Arts Academy, brings together international and local flavors with experimental and innovative interpretations.

The Royan Hotel Hagia Sophia Istanbul, a member of Radisson Individuals, has 49 rooms in 6 different types with terrace, Turkish bath and jacuzzi options.

'We will continue our tourism investments'

Royan Hotels Board Member Fatih Gedikli, whose speech at the opening was included in the statement, noted that they determined 100 percent guest satisfaction as the most basic principle and said, 'There is nothing more important to us than our guests leaving our hotel with a smile on their face.'

Gedikli, who stated that they will continue their investments in the tourism sector, said, 'In the first stage, we aim to open a culture hotel in Cappadocia and a vineyard hotel in Urla. We have already started searching for new locations. Then we aim to expand abroad. Our primary goal is to open 10 hotels throughout Turkey and then expand to the world.'
