Radisson Hotel Group has secured another distinctive property for its fast-growing conversion brand.

Scoring a milestone deal

Following the signing of an agreement with Blackpool FC, Radisson Hotel Group is to convert the current hotel within Bloomfield Road Stadium into Blackpool FC Stadium Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals. Just one of five hotels integrated within a UK football stadium, Blackpool FC Hotel will join Radisson Individuals in the second quarter of 2022.

Adela Cristea, vice president and head of business development in the UK and Ireland for Radisson Hotel Group, said: “At Radisson Hotel Group, we’re committed to delivering unique experiences to our guests.

“A hotel both within a football stadium and in the popular and unique tourist destination of Blackpool certainly helps us achieve that aim. We’re thrilled to add Blackpool FC Stadium Hotel, a member of Radisson Individuals to our portfolio and look forward to giving our guests a warm welcome.”

Boosting Blackpool’s profile

Radisson Individuals’ new outpost comprises 66 guestrooms, consisting of standard and executive rooms as well as suites, including 22 with views over the pitch. These are joined by a restaurant and bar offering British cuisine, a lounge sports bar and large function space accommodating up to 300 people, a spa with four treatment rooms, a sauna and a 90 sq m fitness centre. The hotel manager is Chloé Pixton.

Joining Radisson Individuals marks the latest step in the revival of the Championship football club, which was bought by wealthy financier Simon Sadler out of receivership in 2019.

Ben Mansford, CEO of Blackpool Football Club, said: “Since Simon Sadler purchased the club, we have worked hard to establish Blackpool FC Hotel as one of the leading places to stay in Blackpool. Under the stewardship of Chloé Pixton, things have continued to move forward against the challenges of a global pandemic.

“As things have gone from strength to strength on the pitch, off the pitch, we are delighted that we have been able to finalise an arrangement to become part of the Radisson Hotel Group family. For the club and the hotel to become associated with a best-in-class global market leader is testament to how far everyone has come at Bloomfield Road and we are excited for what the future with Radisson Hotel Group will mean.”

The property puts guests a ten-minute walk away from Blackpool South railway station and a ten-minute drive from Blackpool North station. As a major tourist destination, the town is home to various popular sights, including the Blackpool Pleasure Beach amusement park and landmark Blackpool Tower.
