“The seven new hotels are in line with our expansion strategy, which has seen significant growth in key African markets such as Morocco, Nigeria, Tunisia and Ethiopia,” said Elie Younes, Head of Global Development, Radisson Hotel Group.

Radisson Hotel Group has announced the addition of seven new hotels to its portfolio in Africa, as well as the opening of its first hotel in Tanzania in the first half of 2024.

Radisson Hotel Group has now reached nearly 100 hotels in operation and under development in Africa, with the Group on track to reach a target of 150 hotels in the next five years.

Tanzania has been identified as a key market in the Group’s proactive expansion strategy, and it has made its first foray into the country with two hotel deals. The addition further solidifies the Group as the hotel company with the largest market presence in Africa, building on its diverse African portfolio spanning 30 countries.

In Nigeria, Radisson Hotel Group continues to lead with a portfolio of 13 hotels in operation and development, including five new hotels signed in 2023. The new Radisson RED Hotel Abuja further strengthens the Group’s presence in the city, bringing the total number of hotels under development in Abuja to four.

The Group has continued the same efforts in Morocco with a clear transformation plan, growing its presence from one hotel in 2020 to over nine hotels in operation today and four hotels under development. Casablanca represents a strategic hub between multiple continents. The new signings of Radisson Blu Hotel & Apartments Casablanca Finance City and Radisson RED Hotel Casablanca Finance City reinforce the Group’s ambition to reach over 25 hotels nationwide by 2030.

The statement included Elie Younes, Global Development President of Radisson Hotels Group, who made the following comments: 'The seven new hotels are in line with our expansion strategy, which has seen significant growth in key African markets such as Morocco, Nigeria, Tunisia and Ethiopia, and our eagerly awaited first hotel in Tanzania. These hotels also underscore our transformation strategy and our commitment to diversify our portfolio by introducing new brands and strengthening our presence in these important markets.'

After a strong first half of the year, Younes stated that they plan to continue this momentum in the second half by focusing on expanding their presence in key markets such as Morocco and South Africa. 'We recently announced our goal of reaching 25 hotels by 2030, doubling our portfolio in both countries. We thank each and every one of our partners for the valuable trust they have in us and our brands.'
