Radisson Hotel Group Releases 2023 Responsible Business Report
Radisson Hotel Group shared its 2023 'Responsible Business' report.
According to the statement made by the company, Radisson Hotel Group's 'Responsible Business' report for last year highlighted the net zero emission targets it aims to achieve by 2050.
The report also included the company's 5-year strategic plan. The plan, which covers the period 2023 - 2027, where sustainability targets are at the center, includes the group's 'Responsible Business' focus areas and targets.
Radisson Hotel Group, which has implemented the 'Hotel Sustainability Fundamentals' program in order to reinforce its commitments in the field of sustainability, continues these studies in half of its hotels and has included 179 hotels in the scope of the program.
After receiving the short-term 'Science-Based Targets Initiative' approval in 2022, Radisson also received scientific approval for its zero emission targets in 2023. These approvals are considered an important step for the group's full compliance with the zero-emission and Paris Climate Agreement targets.
Within the scope of these targets, Radisson Hotel Group aims to reduce carbon emissions from its activities and reduce greenhouse gas emissions to 46 percent by 2030. The group also aims to reach a net zero emission target by 2050.
Stating that a 35 percent reduction has been achieved in its carbon footprint per square meter since 2019, the group has also prevented the emission of 87 thousand tons of carbon dioxide equivalent. It is calculated that this figure is equivalent to the emissions of 18,700 gasoline vehicles.
Radisson's sustainability targets include increasing the use of renewable energy, reducing its water footprint by 30 percent by 2026, and ending the use of single-use plastics.
