More than 88.5 million tourists visited Spain in the first 11 months of 2024
It was reported that Spain hosted more than 88.5 million tourists in the first 11 months of 2024, which is a record.
According to the data of the Spanish National Statistics Institute (INE), the country reached the highest number of tourists in its history in 2024.
INE announced that the number of tourists visiting the country between January 1 and November 30 exceeded 88.5 million, a 10.7 percent increase compared to the same period of the previous year, and noted that tourist spending broke a new record with a 16.7 percent increase, reaching 118 billion 693 million euros.
According to INE data, the tourists who visited Spain the most and spent the most in the first 11 months of 2024 were the British.
Last year, Spain was visited by 17.5 million British, 12.2 million French, 11.3 million German, 5 million Italian tourists, 4.7 million from northern European countries, 4.5 million from the Netherlands, and 4 million from the United States. The country is expected to close 2024 with 91 million tourists and 125 billion euros in tourism revenue.
