Radisson Hotel Group has appointed Joseph Chalfoun as area restaurants and bars director for the Middle East and Africa.

In his new leadership role, Chalfoun will be based at Radisson Hotel Group’s area support office in Dubai.

Future growth

As area restaurants and bars director for Radisson in the Middle East and Africa, Joseph Chalfoun will lead the companywide food and beverage transformation across this region in an effort to create greater value for guests, partners and owners.

Chalfoun will lead the conceptualisation and pre-opening of restaurants and bars at Radisson hotels across the Middle East and Africa while also working to drive profits, control standards and retain brand recognition and supporting the group’s central support office in Europe.

Tim Cordon, senior area vice president in the Middle East and Africa at Radisson Hotel Group, said: “We are delighted to have Joseph as part of the team, leading such a critical and exciting department, which has such a substantial impact on our guests’ overall experience.”

“Particularly across the Middle East and Africa, food and beverage takes centre stage, contributing significantly to guests’ overall perception of our hotels and brands. We are truly thrilled to see Joseph’s wonderful ideas and plans come to life, elevating the guest experience and our food and beverage offering in its entirety.”

Experience to draw on

In his new role Chalfoun will draw on his previous experience of managing groups of restaurants and bars in the GCC and supporting their development from conceptualisation to operation.

He most recently served as the unit head of F&B and retail for the Louvre Museum in Abu Dhabi, overseeing growth strategy and managing contractual relations. Chalfoun achieved a BA Hons in international hospitality and tourism management at the University of Wales.

“Looking at the decade ahead, our region and its food and beverage scene will look quite different than it does today,” said Chalfoun. “Radisson Hotel Group aims to be there at the forefront of this change. I am excited to be a part of it, eager to learn and tackle new challenges, and to work with the people and talent that will help us get there.”

“We have created six new Radisson Hotel Group specialty concepts that we will start rolling out. These exciting concepts have been carefully shaped and crafted and will be launched with a complete strategy and positioning plan in place.”
