Israel has launched a new incentive program to attract Russian tourists to the tourist city of Eilat on the Red Sea.
Israel, which hosted 67 thousand Russian tourists this year, has launched an advertising incentive for Russian truck operators for more in 2025.
On December 23, the Israeli Embassy in the Russian Federation and the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in the Russian Federation held a press conference in Moscow regarding the goals of resuming direct flights from Moscow to Eilat and the introduction of the electronic visa application.
Stating that the hotels in Eilat where refugees used to stay have been made ready for tourism again, Israeli Ambassador to Russia Simone Halperin reminded that the region has a room capacity of over 11,500.
The ambassador and his delegation met with representatives of Red Wings and Azimuth airlines as well as Russian tour operators.
Vladimir Shklyar, director of the Department of the Israeli Ministry of Tourism in the Russian Federation and the CIS, said that they have re-launched a marketing program to support Russian tour operators, adding that they will support tour operators up to 50% of their expenses for promoting the destination. Vladimir Shklyar also reported that they are working on a support program that will be given for every tourist brought to Israel.
