Hotels ranked third in price increases

According to the inflation data for 2024 announced by the Turkish Statistical Institute, the third group with the highest price increases were restaurants and hotels.

The Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK) announced the latest inflation data for 2024.

According to the announced data, inflation was 1.03 percent in December 2024 compared to the previous month, 44.38 percent compared to December of the previous year, 44.38 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 58.51 percent according to twelve-month averages.

Hotels ranked third

The main group with the highest annual increase in 2024 was education with 91.64 percent, followed by housing with 69.03 percent and restaurants and hotels with 57.13 percent.

The highest price increase in December was in household goods with 2.78 percent. This was followed by communication with 1.82 percent and housing with 1.71 percent.

Price changes in restaurants and hotels

Prices in restaurants and hotels increased by 1.35 percent compared to the previous month, 57.13 percent compared to December of the previous year, 57.13 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and 76.36 percent compared to 12-month averages.

Inflation 83.40 percent according to ENAG

According to the Inflation Research Group (ENAG) data, inflation increased by 2.34 percent on a monthly basis in December, while annual inflation was 83.40 percent.
