Consumer price index (CPI) increased by 71.60% annually and 1.64% monthly

A change in general index was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.64%, on December of the previous year by 24.73%, on same month of the previous year by 71.60% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 65.07% in June 2024.

Clothing and footwear with 47.84% was the main group that indicated the lowest annual increase. On the other hand, education with 107.11% was the main group where the highest annual increase realized.

In June 2024, clothing and footwear with -0.58% was the main group that indicated the most monthly decrease. On the other hand, housing with 3.79% was the main group where the highest monthly increase realized (indices, weights and rate of changes (%) by main expenditure groups are given in the Table-1).

In June 2024, within indices of 143 basic headings (Classification of Individual Consumption by Purpose-COICOP 5 Digit Level) in the index, the index of 35 basic heading decreased and the index of 5 basic headings remained unchanged while the index of 103 basic headings increased.

The indicator for CPI having specified coverage (B) increased by 70.40% annually and 1.90% monthly

A change in CPI excluding unprocessed food, energy, alcoholic beverages, tobacco and gold was realized in CPI (2003=100) on the previous month by 1.90%, on December of the previous year by 25.39%, on same month of the previous year by 70.40% and on the twelve months moving averages basis by 68.25% in June 2024.
