Antalya breaks a historical record with approximately 17.3 million visitors in 2024
Minister of Culture and Tourism Mehmet Nuri Ersoy announced that Antalya broke a record by reaching the highest number of visitors in its history with 17 million 278 thousand 103 people last year.
Minister Ersoy stated in his social media account that a year full of records was left behind in Antalya.
Expressing his great happiness to witness Antalya's great success in tourism in 2024, Ersoy noted the following:
"Our city, which is one of the most important centers of world tourism, experienced a record year by reaching the highest number of visitors in its history with a total of 17 million 278 thousand 103 visitors. The list of countries sending the most visitors is; 1 Russia, 2 Germany, 3 England, and the number of Turkish citizens coming to Antalya from abroad exceeded the 1 million threshold for the first time. This historical success once again revealed the international appeal of our city." Ersoy pointed out that Antalya tourism continues to grow with its natural beauties, historical riches and world-class service quality and keeps Turkey at the top as a tourism center, and said, "We would like to thank all our stakeholders who contributed to this success and wish to break new records in 2025."
Hosted the most Russian and German tourists
In the list of countries sending the most tourists to Antalya, Russia ranked first with 3 million 909 thousand 960 visitors, Germany ranked second with 3 million 517 thousand 589 visitors and England ranked third with 1 million 574 thousand 167 visitors.
England was followed by Poland, Netherlands, Kazakhstan, Romania, Ukraine, Czech Republic and Lithuania, respectively.
Historical peak in the number of citizens coming from abroad
On the other hand, a historical success was achieved in the number of Turkish citizen visitors coming from abroad to Antalya. The number of citizen visitors coming from abroad exceeded the 1 million threshold for the first time in a year, reaching 1 million 11 thousand 99. This data was recorded as an important turning point for Antalya tourism.
The number of daily visitors arriving in the city by air also reached a record number.
On August 3, 2024, the highest daily visitor number of all time was achieved with 102,755 visitors entering the Antalya Airport International Terminal. This figure once again revealed the intensity and international appeal of Antalya tourism.
The number of tourists visiting Antalya in the one-month period covering December 1-31, 2024 was 318,641.
The most visitors to the city in December came from Germany with 81,244. Russia came in second with 46,793 visitors, and England came in third with 34,170 visitors. England was followed by Poland, Ukraine, Bulgaria, Kazakhstan, the Netherlands, Romania and Belgium, respectively.
